When we started the latest version of our personal website we knew we wanted something technically difficult but also visually appealing. After brainstorming for a while about the theme of the site we came up with the ‘Robots vs. Nerds’ concept and took it to our buddy Josh Hunter to see what he thought. He immediately started throwing out new ideas and understood what we were trying to accomplish. His artistic talent brought the technical Flash to life and made the project breath. We asked him to answer a few questions for us and talk about his new company and book publications. Read on for the full interview:
Recently, I was visiting one of my favorite blogs, lifehacker.com, and while I was reading one of the articles I ran across the ad pictured below. The first thing you notice about the flash banner ad is that it immediately grabs your attention with the yellow cooking area. If Lifehacker’s site wasn’t yellow it would probably grab you that much more and I assume Gawker Media is running these ads throughout their network of blogs which have a primarily white background. When you hit ‘play’ a chef begins going through a quick lesson on how to make an easy but intriguing recipe. I’ve seen several but the coolest one was a bacon and maple ice cream over Cinnamon sour dough bread pieces. Yes, you read that correctly. Bacon ice cream. Amazing.
LogicBomb Media wants to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday! We feel so fortunate to have such wonderful clients and friends continue to support us. This holiday Mauro will be spending time with his family in Woodstock, Georgia. He and his girlfriend, Marla, will be spending some much needed quality time running around the woods with their three dogs Ein, Edward, and Jet. Gary will be Jeeping his way to Jacksonville, Alabama with his wife, Valerie, to spend time with his dad.
We have had the same site since our launch two and a half years ago and it was beginning to look a little, how should we say, dated. It’s tough trying to find the time to work on your own marketing materials but we decided we needed to put our nose to the grindstone and finally get this thing underway. Below we have outlined the credits for the project, some stills, and the roll we played in the project. If you are interested in more technical details and design process of the project head on over to this LogicBomb Laboratory article to learn more.
About the Project
Recently, in partnership with Spitfire Media Group, we successfully launched ourcardmember.com which showcases businesses in small towns around Georgia. We were contracted to create all pre-planning documents, manage the IA (interface architecture), and to perform all PHP / Flash development of the site. OURcard required a fairly quick turn on the project so the design and coding were completed in tandem. Spitfire Media Group began working on the design while we worked on the database architecture and PHP-driven logic. Once designs and logic were completed we applied the awesome design work from Spitfire Media Group to our logic, completed testing, and launched the site.
